Enter the Deku TreeEnter the Deku Tree
Now that you have both a sword and shield, head back to the entrance to the Deku Tree’s grove. Make sure both items are equipped. You can equip the sword and shield at the Equipment Subscreen.

Mido will be frustrated when he learns you have both a sword and a shield, but will keep his word and allow you to pass, reluctantly.
|
|
Head through the passage, but take caution on the first turn. A group of withered Deku Babas will sprout up from the ground. They are immobile, but will inflict damage if you accidentally run into them. Cut them down with your sword and they’ll leave a Deku Stick behind.
Move on to speak with the Great Deku Tree.
