Abstrusnesses of Hyrule
Below are some of the Abstrusnesses (Mysteries) of Hyrule. Stuff in the game that I have no idea why it's there.
- There is (now was) a mystery but is now solved. There is a little hole in the bottom of Zora's Domain that was said to lead to the Triforce. But it's impossible to get to... or is it?
SOLVED! 4/23/99
There is a glitch on Odyssey of Hyrule that can explain this one. There actually is a way to get under the ice in Zora's Domain. Go check it out.
- If you go to Zora's River and look at the guy selling Magic Beans he has a strange marking on his arm. It looks like it says 1:01. Could this have anything with the time you have to get with the jogger for something to happen?
- If you look at the map, there are three places (Lon Lon Ranch, the Market, and Kakariko Village) that form a triangle. Was this intentional or does it have something to do with the Triforce?
- If you go into the poe shop where the Poe Trader is, if you look on the wall behind his bed, you will see a little piece of paper that has the Triforce on it. Why is it there...? I think we'll never know.
- After you free one of the carpenters from Gerudo Fortress, he says that if you come back to the tent in Gerudo Valley the will give you something good. They don't give you anything special at all except fix the bridge which really isn't anything special at all! All that is different is that you can then race the jogger... but the jogger, as far as we know, doesn't do anything special.
- The Jogger in the carpenter's tent. Ok... there are several rumors going around on the net about different ways you have to beat the jogger. I personally, don't believe any of them. I think he's there just to make you mad, to perfect your use of carrots, or has some involvement in the sequal to Ocarina of Time.
- The Eagle like statue atop the arch with the fence that doesn't let Link pass to Hyrule Castle. It tells you the time with the time in red letters like it has to do with something special... but what?
- In the small tower in the Southeast part of Lon Lon Ranch is a little gap near the top of the tower on your left when you enter. You can't use anything but your ocarina inside the tower so you couldn't hookshot up there. What could the gap be for?- SOLVED! 3/31/99
I used Gameshark to jump up there and all you do is fall out into an untextured area. I assume it's supposed to be a window because when you get up there a little ways off the ground, there's white shinning out of it.
- The grotto in Gerudo Valley that has rupees leading to a red one in the center. As Adult Link, there is a secret grotto under a silver colored rock. There is a pool of water with something that has a trial of rupees leading to the center red one. Also, notice the colors on the wall. They are the 6 colors of the 6 Medallions Link gets in the game... do you hear the word TRIFORCE anywhere here?!
- In Big Brother's room in Goron City, there are symobols on the wall of what looks like the endention that the Goron's Ruby. They are in 3 positions that are identical to the positions of the 3 pieces of the Triforce.
- Another mystery of Big Brother's room in Goron City is in the center of his room, on the celing, is a little square passage. What could this be used for? Maybe it has something to do with the weird markings on the wall... TRIFORCE...?!
- Update 3/31/99 - I used Gameshark to go up there. It only goes a little way up and the walls up there are solid and you don't go on forever! This means that it is/was to be used in the game! For what though is still the mystery.
I wish they would've kept those fancy of signs in the American version.
Check out the size of that building. It's nowhere in the American version. Is it the Happy Mask Shop?!
Wow. A Unicorn/Pony Fountain... they should've left that in there.
Where in the Temple of Time (assuming that's where Link is), in the whole game for that matter, is the Triforce upside-down?!
That's Adult Link... how can he still have the Fairy Ocarina?! He needs the Ocarina of Time to unlock the Door of Time... Maybe it's a pre-production copy picture.
SOLVED! 4/15/99
This is a pre-production copy that was being played before the final copy of the game was done. The same with the instruction booklet picture on page 21.
- When Link goes back to Big Brother's Room, he can still play a song to him. He likes to have Saria's Song played to him and says it will never get old. Maybe, you can play it to him some time when you're older...?
